Terms and conditions are not required by law, but are extremely important to the long-term success and viability of your website.

Having website terms and conditions is considered standard business practice in the US, Canada, the UK, and just about everywhere else — from South Africa to Australia.

If you plan to grow your business or expand your user base, a simple terms and conditions agreement will provide your website with an additional layer of legal protection, and allow you to maintain your rights.

If you target users in the EU, the GDPR affects you and threatens crippling fines for noncompliance. You may have noticed many sites now visibly disclosing browser cookies as a result of GDPR, but this is far from the only requirement. Read our What is GDPR guide for a plain English introduction to this law’s strict compliance requirements if you’re unsure where to start.

1. Don’t copy terms and conditions text from another website

A small blog or website will be safe using a generic terms and conditions template, but businesses need to include clauses specific to their operations. Copying terms and conditions from a reputable company won’t help you emulate them — instead, it could confuse users and potentially land you in legal trouble.

Likewise, copying from a smaller or unknown website opens you up to the risk of having incomplete terms that aren’t viable in a court of law.

2. Write in clear language and avoid legalese

If users don’t understand your terms, they can’t be expected to agree to them. Writing in simple language, instead of complicated legalese, makes life easier for your visitors and strengthens your defense if legal action is taken against you.

Just to illustrate the power of clear language in legal documents, it’s important to note that the recent Google GDPR fine of €50 million (~$63 million) was levied because the tech giant made vital information inaccessible to users in its agreements and was not transparent in its practices.

Race

Depending on your age category, you will only be allowed to select certain distances.

(add reasoning for this?)

Within the season, if you're ranked within the top 20 on the leaderboard within your event, we will invite you to our seasonal live championship race.

Ever been sus of those top performances where they seem to be beyond their capabilities or jumped in mileage overnight?

Our live championship format aims to dispel those suspicions once all the top performers are gathered at our championship. We'll all get to see and verify the top performances with our own eyes!

With safe distancing in place, of course.

Within the event tab designated for each seasonal championship, the results will be displayed once uploaded and verified by the Runners Donut personnel.

TBC

As long as the event is not greyed out, you can sign up for more than one event.

TBC

Once a minimum of six runners in your team have submitted their activities, your team will be ranked on the leaderboard.

We calculate your age based on Dec 31. If you're born in the year 2000, you will be recognized as 21 years old in the year of 2021.

Activities

Once you connect your Garmin/Strava account to your Runners Donut account, the activities will sync simultaneously. No additional work needed!

As long as the activity is clocked from 1201 after the event has started, you are free to clock your activity anywhere at your own time. Make sure to end your activity before 2359 on the final day!

When you complete our weekly challenges, you earn Donuts. As you accumulate Donuts, you can redeem items from our Shop.

Truly, run to be rewarded!

Team

Looking for your club(s)? Click on the "Teams" tab at the top and type in the search bar to find your team. If your team is not listed yet, contact us to help us grow the community!

If you received a referral from an existing Runners Donut user, just click on the link in that email to directly join that team.

You can join up to three teams, one in each category.

(sth abt if some join too many teams then the competition becomes meaningless since compete against the same people/themselves)

Shop

You can access the shop through the "Shop" tab or be redirected to the shop when you are viewing your accumulated Donuts and click the "Redeem points" option.

Within the shop, click on the item to view more information. Once you've decided that you want to purchase it, click the "Buy now/Add to cart" options and proceed to check out.

Don't worry! Unless the item is limited edition, the product is likely to be restocked. You can opt-in for notifications when the item is restocked so that you won't miss out!

We will notify you when the item has been shipped out. (how many days will we take to ship them out?)

Depending on the shipping option you selected, you may or may not be able to track the item delivery.

(Any self pick up option?)

The items will be refreshed once in a while. Turn on notifications to know when there's new stuff released!

(Are the delivery charges standardised island wide?)

It will be applied in the total fees upon checkout.

TBC

At this point, no. They may become available as collector's edition items in the future.

Yes. When you are viewing your donuts, there is a top-up function that allows you to link your payment details to convert cash into donuts so you can redeem your desired item.
